Today someone from work told me how much she appreciated that I wasn’t into drama. She literally used the word “drama” which I thought was interesting considering my substack’s name. She said I am “calming.” That’s not the first time I’ve heard that before.
By being calm, I stick out like a shining star against a night sky. If the world were not filled with drama, you wouldn’t really notice and appreciate it when you meet someone who is not into drama.
I hope everyone reading this substack can implement what I’ve talked about, taking personal responsibility where you can and being less involved in the drama of others. Because if you are, then you’re shining like a light wherever you are and people may be noticing. When people notice it, they may start to emulate it themselves. This is how we can change the world by changing ourselves.
Too many people who feel they want to change the world focus on changing other people, anyone but themselves. But to truly help the world be better, the change has to come from within. And people will see the good fruit of that tree and want to emulate it. You may be planting a seed simply by walking away from drama in your life. Even if no one tells you that they appreciate it. You may be leaving a large, very beneficial, ripple effect in this world.
