My Drama-Triangle Radar Might Be Hypervigilance
Apparently I can accurately perceive drama from just a few lines of text...
When I first thought about writing a Substack on the Drama Triangle, I was concerned that there wouldn’t be enough to write about. To me, it felt like a pretty simple concept, people can fall into 3 roles and this Drama perceptual model keeps them feeling powerless and ineffective at improving their lives. The only way to find your power is to take personal responsibility (which is the key to exiting the Drama Triangle perceptual model of your world).
I’ve had a few interactions over the last month or so where I was able to read just a couple of sentences of strangers over the ‘net and perceive accurately that these people were falling into that Drama Triangle trap and realized that I use these “hints” as red flags. In these instances, initially the interaction was short, but the responses afterwards clarified that my initial perception was accurate.
