My last post was about a posterior vitreous detachment. There was a hemorrhage and an increased likelihood of retinal detachment or tears. I went back to the specialist after the supposed time frame was up and he said I shouldn’t have to worry about there. The chances just went down to 1 out of 1,000. Since I made it through the one-month worry-zone where the chances are extremely high to have a retinal detachment, I started to calm down.
Praying for a speedy and full recovery for you! Well done for getting back to the doctor so quickly and getting it sorted. It is so horrible when you're trying to figure out exactly what is wrong and what you need to do. Better to check.
Thank you for the prayers. It feels like a battle for me, trying to figure out when I should see a doctor or not because of my health anxiety and hating it when I see a specialist and have to pay for it when there was no need.
I spent a lot of time trying to get healthier so I wouldn't need doctors and now God gave me this situation where I have practically no way to prevent something going wrong.
I will add that since I work at a church, I was also added to their prayer list when I had surgery. I was told by two eye doctors, "The surgeon couldn't have done a better job." The surgery went great. It is the recovery and trying to manage my anxiety that is rough.
But, I cannot imagine what it would have been like had the surgeon not done a great job. That would have been awful. I do trust that in the long run things should work out. But it is a very difficult season for me emotionally.
