Obedience Creates Tyranny: What's a Mandate?
Citizens Are Supposed to Give Mandates to Politicians, Not the Other Way Around
I saw a meme today that basically said, “Tyrants don’t create tyranny. Your obedience does.” But I have a problem. I find it extremely difficult to share memes that look bad, such as the ones that are too blurry because someone found a small raster picture and enlarged it. So I created a newer one. It’s got a masked man in it. I won’t stop writing about the forced masking until our society at large admits that it is/was morally wrong.
The word “mandate” is supposed to mean “an authorization to act” that is given to a political representative by the people’s votes. Our country is supposed to work by the people voting in someone to carry out their will for them. We elect people to work for us. We give them mandates to do things for us. When the elected people don’t work for us, but for their own interests instead, it means we have no representation. In the olden days, people would say there should be, “No taxation without representation.” Why on earth would you give money to people who are not representing your desires?
It’s bizarre that the government acts as if they have a “mandate” to force us to wear masks or get vaccines. It is also bizarre that they attempted to mandate the people. The way we know there was never a mandate from the people to force each other to wear masks is that when given the option many (most) people didn’t do that. The way we know there was never a mandate from the people to get the vaccine is that when given the option, many people didn’t get it (or the boosters).
Only 22.5% of adults and 14.4% of children are up to date on Covid vaccines – and the rate is even lower (13.3%) among pregnant people, despite the risks of severe illness, complications and long Covid because of Covid infection during pregnancy.
From the Guardian
The majority of people never wanted to force each other to wear masks. There was no public mandate for that. The public had the right to ask the politicians, “Are you crazy? Remember yourself!” The public should have put the politicians in their place. They should have enforced their boundaries.
If most people had said, “No.” There wasn’t anything the politicians could do about it. We never voted to mask each other. We never voted to make getting a vaccine required. We, the public, never mandated our government act as our protector in this manner. They took it upon themselves and they would have gotten nowhere if no one had complied. The tyranny came from regular citizens going along with the government because they were either scared stupid, or authoritarian themselves.
You hold power. You can say, “No,” and, although people like to conform to what other people are doing, they can conform to those of you who are enforcing their boundaries. Learn how to enforce your boundaries in your personal life, and you will learn how to do it on a larger scale. As you enforce your boundaries in your personal life, others will learn to deal with hearing, “No,” and having to figure out other ways to get what they want.
If people were enforcing personal boundaries before 2020, and said, “No,” to mask mandates, others would have had more practice in learning how to get their needs met when dealing with less compliant people. They would have learned how to keep themselves feeling safe without requiring others to do things for them.
Enforcing your boundaries is good for you and them.

The medical tyranny of 2020-22 was an unprecedented crime against humanity. I am glad that some people are still talking about it - such as you. You just know they will try it again, especially if we are complacent and in denial. The remedy is to think for yourself. Medical authorities can be as easily corrupted as religious or political authorities. We witnessed it firsthand, all of us.
Hopefully more and more people are learning how to say "no".
